My Students
My students live in a low-income community where getting resources is difficult. I serve an amazing bunch of kids who are driven to learn.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds, with 100% of our students receiving free lunch.
Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Sacramento. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.
As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. With the diversity in our school, comes diversity in how they learn. My hope is to provide my students some flexible seating options to increase their focus and also at the same time decrease any behavior issues that might get in the way of learning.
My Project
Since a good chunk of time is learning and working on computers on a daily basis, having good quality headphones for all students will help them stay focused and be more productive in class. Having a class set of headphones will help the class stay on task and focus on the various activities they need to complete on the computer. With good headphones, students will be less distracted and complete their assignments in a more acceptable time frame. With students being more focused, they will be able work towards being more productive and less distracting to others in the class.
