Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This will be my 2nd year teaching at a low income/high poverty school. I teach 2nd grade. As heartbreaking as it is, most of my students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom.
All of my students deserve to be healthy and happy.
Though I cannot control what happens outside of the classroom, I can certainly control what happens inside. My students come to class feeling loved, supported, and engaged. I have a wide range of students in my classroom. Some students are highly intelligent and some have developmental delays. This does not stop me from providing them the education that they need.
I love all of my students, and they each bring joy to my life as a teacher.
I look forward to building a positive classroom during my second year of teaching.
My Project
This project is to help me bridge the language gap for my English language learners. We need quality headphones to listen and to practice speaking. One issue that happened last semester is that students were easily distracted in their home environments.
Headphones will allow my students to focus only on my voice during distance learning.
It is important that my English language learners are able to hear my voice clearly. This allows them to better understand the content and practice the language themselves.
Being that we are a Title 1 school in a low income community, my students families do not have the means to purchase quality headphones. Please help me give my students the resources to be success.
