My Students
I believe every child deserves the opportunity for an excellent education, and I am proud to partner with my school, other educators, families, and community leaders to strive toward this goal. I teach in a high poverty school zone in which 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. These amazing students need additional support because most of them come from low-income single family households of which many have little to no support or resources. Despite some of the challenges they face in and around their environment, every year my students come to school excited, full of life, and eager to learn.
As the 2016 and 2019 Teacher of the Year as well as an alumni of Metro Atlanta Teach for America, I choose to continue to significantly impact the life trajectories of students in our region’s high-need communities.
My Project
I will hand out these headphones like Christmas presents and make them individual to the students in the Learning Lab. Students will be using the i-Ready Common Core diagnostic and individualized instruction for ELA and Math. Our school is very excited to provide this learning to our students, but we need headphones too! Your gift would be greatly appreciated.
This donation will help students learn without distractions from the student sitting near them.
The headphones will motivate them as they visit our Computer Lab each day to complete their work in i-Ready.
