Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 9th grade students are eager to learn more about their identity and constantly seek answers to what their individual purpose actually is. They are desperate to talk about relevant and engaging topics they face daily. My students have a growth set mentality and challenge themselves to reach our class’ high expectations.

My Project
Our class uses a blended learning approach to learning. Students use Canvas, Nearpod, and other tools to increase engagement and achievement in our 9th grade English class.
One of the best practices in blended learning is including personalization where students are able to make choices about their learning.
Because students will not always be learning the same thing at the same time like traditional lecturing, many students will need access to headphones so they do not interrupt their peers while they are learning.
These headphones will help create a quiet environment for those who do not need to listen to audio while learning. Consequently, students who need audio will no longer distract their peers.
Towards the end of each lesson students will be able to choose activities from a playlist, or assignment menu, where students will be challenged to meet our daily objectives any way they choose. Students who need audio will use these headphones to practice mastering their skills while allowing others to work quietly.
