Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing 5th-grade scholars who come in with a smile on their face ready to make the best of each day. My scholars learn Math and Science in my class and switch halfway through the day to learn ELA and Social Studies with another teacher so I have 2 groups of amazing kids. My scholars require various learning styles in order to be successful. Our school focuses on making sure our students embody all the qualities that first-class leaders possess. In doing so, we refer to our students as “Scholars”. It's all about the mindset!

My scholars are a mix of General Education, Special Education, and English Language Learners.

My scholars are told every morning that “they matter” and it is my goal to ensure that they never forget that! They work hard for me and I strive to be the best teacher, mentor and role model for them!

My Project

These headphones will help my students focus. They are currently working at home as well as attending class in school. We use chrome books throughout the day, both at home and in school.

The headphones will help my students tune out sounds and noises and stressors around them.

In addition, since we are currently unable to work close to one another, the headphones will allow me to work with individual students as well as with small groups. While I am doing this, students can complete assignments blocking out distractions from these small group meetings.

The sharpener will make sure my students (and their pencils) stay sharp! The colored pencils will give my students a chance to unwind during recess while coloring inspiring quotes. If kids are mentally and emotionally healthy, they are better equipped to face the challenges life brings.
