Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class of first graders is a culturally diverse group of children who are not divided by their differences. They are all simply friends in the same class with the same goals to do the work required to help their brains get smarter and help each other along the way. We work under the idea that everyone can improve and progress no matter where we start. We are in a growth mindset. We are a Title I school.

My Project

We use the Lexia reading program to personalize each student's reading skills and the Big Brainz math program for math facts memorization. Both of these programs are used in class. With the surge in Covid cases, we have had to begin at-home online learning using Canvas to provide instruction at home. This instruction involves me teaching live and in recorded videos I've prepared.

My students have been provided the device to facilitate this learning but not quality headphones.

I'm requesting headphones for in-school and at-home learning. Thanks!
