it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 29 low income, inner city youth in Philadelphia. My scholars are 5 and 6 years old and in kindergarten. They are from many different races and cultures which is what I love about our classroom families. My students are active, energetic and technology savvy. I enjoy my job very much and watching the students learn and grow daily is amazing.
My scholars have a thirst for knowledge and are eager to learn new information.
The majority of my students come to kindergarten with very little preparation for learning. Many have no books in their homes and have not learned to hold a pencil when they start with me in September. They have already come a very long way in just 5 months of school and can now read, write and listen.
My Project
Some of my students are behind reading level and require a reading intervention which is done on our tables individually. Each student is on their own level whether that be below level, strategic level or above level. The headphones will allow students to concentrate individually at their on level without noise distracting others.
This intervention program will allow my scholars to advance their reading progress at their own pace, on their individual reading level.
These headphones will allow their instruction to be individualized without any interruptions. My students will be able to concentrate using these headphones without any other distractions.
