I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a project-based learning school that is on the cutting edge of technology and has a strong arts program. Our school of 420 students ranges from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Students come to us from 10 different counties and various backgrounds which adds to the diversity of our school.
Our students are taught through project-based learning with real-world connections and a classical education that showcases their learning three times a year through our Exhibition Nights.
It is my plan to provide my students with the materials they need to enrich their learning and personal lives.
My students are very active, super inquisitive and always eager to learn. They are constantly on the move, they love books and thrive off of lots of positive reinforcement and attention. My students know as soon as they come into our classroom, the focus is on their potential as a member of our class, our school, and their community.
My Project
My school is a 1-1 Chromebook school. We have an amazing technology teacher who works to help all teachers in all grade levels implement grade appropriate lessons. I currently teach second grade, my students are filled with excitement but are not very careful with materials. I would like to have back up headphones available so that students do not miss out on participating because of not having their own. Headphones help students to work at their own comfort level in private. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
