My students need a practical solution to playing all of our games without goals. The pop-up/portable goals would make games more organized and true to life.

My Students

We do not have a gym for PE and travel off campus, daily, for our activities. This means we carry all of our equipment with us. The student helpers rotate yet carry heavy, bulky, items - even up four flights of stairs! Having easy-to-carry pop up goals would be a benefit to all students.

The school I have the honor of teaching at is an inner city school with a high poverty rate.

The students love learning and being in the classroom, but they also enjoy the times we are in PE and become more social and active. Their neighborhoods are not safe ones and do not afford them the opportunity to be kids and play outside. So, when we are in PE they truly relish their time and use it to the best of their ability.

My Project

We are a school that only has soccer and cross-country teams for extra-curricular sport activities. The students here are serious about their soccer! When we play indoors we use lines on the floor, chairs, or trash cans. To be more "game-like" it would be a definite benefit to have actual goals to shoot at to squelch any arguments about scoring. In doing so the students can put their focus on skill, strategy, and sportsmanship rather than challenging each other if a goal was made or not. We also have three different student/faculty fun days throughout the year, as well as senior picnics, etc. The goals can be used in one of those activities as well.

The donation of the pop-up goals would be a wonderful benefit to our PE classroom.

We can use them for other activities, as well as soccer - such as pillo-polo, Frisbee football, racer ball, bocker, and other competitive and cooperative games we play. These simple pop-up goals would enhance our games and through good sportsmanship enhance the lives of the students.
