This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever read a book or seen a movie that inspired you to take action? I'm hoping my students are moved and inspired by "He Named Me Malala".
I work at a low income, Title I school at which most of our students qualify for free lunch.
Many of my students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. Many of my students are college-bound, highly motivated, hard working and dream of success.
My Project
With this donation, my students will be able to go to the theater to see "He Named Me Malala". They will also be able to make connections between the novel, THE KITE RUNNER, which we read in World Literature class, and what we see in the movie. I'm hoping that seeing this documentary will inspire my students to continue to pursue their educations after high school.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom because students will be able to better understand the importance of education.
It will also help them make connections to current events as well as in their own lives. Lastly, it will help them to better understand some concepts we read about in The Kite Runner.
