In my case I remember how excited my vocal teacher was when I gave my first joint recital. She was so elated. That was my confirmation that she was pleased with my performance.
The jubilation for me will be when I see my students hunger and thirst for the will to learn and explore new things.
The one word that I would describe for the student body that I service is "universal." My student body is made up of children throughout the continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, South America and the United States.
Everyday, I learn something new; there is never a dull moment. It's either form learning different types of food language or custom clothing. It is a wonderful environment to work in.
My Project
My vision is very simple. I envision my students having a totally different outlook and respect as it relates to themselves and others. The activity that my students will be able to do is research and explore other countries and cultures. It is my hope that they will learn to understand, embrace and respect others of different ethnic backgrounds.
Firstly, attending HE NAMED ME MALALA would be very culturally enriching to the overall student body, especially the American children who live in a world that is devoid of any diversity and culture outside of their own.
Secondly, it would help to develop a genuine respect for education and understanding the importance of having a quality education is a vital link in becoming successful in the world we live in.
