My Students

"It is very important to know who you are. To make decisions. To show who you are." -Malala Yousafzai As my students prepare for high school, I want them to watch and listen to the words and actions of Malala and realize that they have the ability to make a positive difference in their community.

Welcome to the wonderful year of 8th grade!

My students opened our school in 2013 as the founding class, and they have watched their school expand each year. They have a wide range of personalities which makes every day interesting! They are students who want to know other students and staff members on a personal level. In doing so, they enjoy sharing and listening to life stories. As they prepare for high school, they are looking for ways to leave a positive school legacy through their work and actions. In doing so, many students are taking on leadership roles to create a positive school culture.

My Project

This class field trip will allow my 8th graders to have a firsthand account about how Malala Yousafzai positively impacted the world we live in. They will use the bus to transport them to and from the movie theater. At the theater, they will watch the documentary to have a better understanding about the value of education. They will learn that actions speak louder than words which will inspire them to become more involved in their school and home community. Through this experience, they will be able to learn that every individual has the ability to positively impact those around them. It just takes courage to try.

Through your generous donations, my classroom will become more knowledgeable about the world they live in today.

They will learn that different countries have different ways of life. In doing so, this will change my students' lives for the better because they will learn how to respect differences. By watching and learning about the life of Malala, my students will be able to learn that they do not have to be an adult to create change. They have the ability to create change at any age.
