Hawks Book Battle

Help me give my students a fair opportunity to compete in the Battle of the Books competition. Out of the sixteen books on the booklist we only have one title in our collection.

My Project

Each year a group of our students read 16 books from the High School Battle of the Books list to compete in the county Battle of the Books competition. These students will be quizzed on the titles in a debate type format. Most of these questions are difficult due to books having similar plots and themes.

The winning school will then go on to compete on the same books in the State Battle of the Books Competition.

Our teams have done very well in the past, this year placing third in the county. When analyzing our collection I noticed that we only have one of these sixteen titles currently. This will not allow our team to be adequately prepared for competition. These fifteen books will not only prepare us for "Battle" by having more than one copy multiple students will be able to read together and discuss the text.
