Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are kids who are from East LA. They are a part of the 99.9 Hispanic are at our school and aspire to leave the lower socio-economical status they are in. They aspire to be doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers and much more. They want to learn how to better themselves and reading is one step of that.
Each student has a goal to reach that encourages them to read various genres of books between their reading range and ability.
They are challenged to read books that give them the opportunity to branch out of their comfort zone and progress to being college-ready!
My Project
These books will allow the students to grow their reading abilities. These various books and genres will allow for their imagination to take them to many different places. From Harry Potter to Classic Books and much more.
These books will allow the student to grow and challenge themselves when they are ready for the next step in preparing for high school, college, and beyond!
These books will allow the students to read at school and at home. Reading 30 minutes a day outside of school has shown and allowed for major growth.
