My Students

"Give a man a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed them for life." Chinese proverb. I have led my students to understand the parts of a controlled experiment. Now they must design and conduct their own so that they can see that science is not always as it seem

My students come from different cultures and backgrounds.

They are multicultural, English Language students, gifted and talented, and everything else in between. Teaching to a wide spectrum from diverse needs and understandings is my greatest challenge and reward as a teacher. My students thrive on concrete lab interactions. All of them deserve and need the visual and kinesthetic aids that this lab provides to help them better learn and understand scientific inquiry.

My Project

"Oh Ms! I get it now!" is what I am aiming for by taking the time and special lab to help my students. Your donation will help my students understand scientific inquiry and the parts of a controlled experiment better. They will carry out one that they design and then revise their experiment to make it better. We will integrate argumentative writing also, which is one of our school's SMARTe goal, perform a lab write-up, and question each others' designs to help understand the importance of replicable trials.

My project is so important because students learn by doing!

These materials are essential because teachers at my school will not receive funding this year due to our unexpected, low enrollment. Please help bring science to life for my students because I will with your support. Mahalo!
