My Project

I chose to request the items in my list because we are trying a new policy in our schools this year that completely bans phones. I am so excited and I cannot wait to see students socializing with one another. I also have my worries, as this is new for them! They haven’t grown up without technology and have previously been permitted to use it. This is why I included many things that encourage collaboration and getting to know your peers. The games, easel pad and flexible seating options will help students have options in getting to know one another. It will give students the opportunity to be comfortable and have fun. Some of the games I chose were also with ELD students in mind, such as “Spot It”. It will give those students the opportunity to have fun and acquire some conversation language skills in the meantime. Our school is also always short in Kleenex. Being in a lower income area, students often come to school despite being sick because they need the meals, have no one to stay at home with, or do not want to fall behind. I look forward to being stocked on Kleenex for them and not the papery kind with no lotion. I also added pencils to my list because students always need them. I was hoping to try out using mechanical pencils to see if my return rate would be higher.
