Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Grammar book handouts often contain dry, outdated examples that disengage even the teacher. With individual white boards, students can enjoy learning grammar and vocabulary by creating and sharing their own interesting sentences.
My students mostly come from first- or second-generation immigrant families.
Many will be first in their families to graduate high school and attend a four-year college. They love reading and writing, but struggle with grammar and vocabulary. They are reflective and eager to improve. Please help them grow to be confident writers.
My Project
With individual white boards, students will practice writing their own sentences after each grammar or vocabulary lesson. They can then work in pairs or small groups to correct each others mistakes and share out with the the class. They can also compete for the most engaging and effective writing.
Through these interactive lessons, grammar and vocabulary become fun to learn and easy to retain.
My students have important and unique ideas to share with the world.
By mastering grammar and advancing vocabulary, they can share their ideas clearly to an audience who will take them seriously. The skills will help them excel in high school, college, and the professional world.
