This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The English department will be teaching the classic, unforgettable novel "The Great Gatsby". When my students have a physical copy of the book in class, their reading performance improves, and they spend more time reading and discussing the events of the novel.
The goal with "The Great Gatsby" is for students to reflect on the characters and how their actions impact the world around them, just like theirs do.
Through character analysis, as well as understanding the time period's impact on people's motivations, students will leave class feeling deeply connected with the classic work of literature.
