This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the gym. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things exciting inPphysical education.
My students are eager to learn new physical activities and sports.
They are very energetic and eager to participate in all types of sports and activities.
They like to move, they are eager to learn and they love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the gym I focus on their potential and growth. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during their time in physical education. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of a healthy life style that includes all types of physical activities.
My Project
My goal is to create a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for healthy lifestyles. I have been very creative in planning activities for my students, but with more equipment I can fully implement different learning styles with multiple physical activities.

I have been very creative in planning activities for my students, but with better equipment I can fully implement different learning styles with multiple physical activities.
The requested soft touch volleyballs, bean bags, rhino balls, yarn balls and soccer goals will help teach all students the correct and safe way to participate in activities and sports. My students have had to go without for a very long time, and I'm looking to build a comparable equipment room to that of those schools in the nearby area.
All students will have the opportunity to participate in activities and sports that they would normally not be able to outside of school. With your help, I can influence hundreds of kids through physical activity every single day.
