I love that when my students see me in the hallway, they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also asked what project they would do next and couldn't wait to attend art class. My students are unique because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.
I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.
I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies, which help my students feel calm, joyous, and relaxed. They are enthusiastic learners.
I have requested Magna Tile kits of: Dashers, Forest Animals, and Farm Animals for my students in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and ESE clusters for building structures and using their imaginations in art.
Think back to when you were young and the excitement you felt in art class. I want to bring exciting experiences to my students. They will get to build and design with Magna-Tiles. Students will practice turn taking, participate in discussions and build their imagination working with these tiles.
They will also participate in problem solving.
Students will also be invited to illustrate their different structures for farm and forest animals and have discussions with their peers. Many STEAM strategies are being incorporated with these colorful tiles.
