Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are First graders who are in a Title I school, a school where over 90% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Over 90% of the students attending my school are affected by poverty. Oftentimes, my students are experiencing homelessness throughout the school year.
My students have a strong desire to learn and explore.
This project will allow my students from very diverse backgrounds to work collaboratively and build relationships while having fun during special free time. This will provide my students with educational games that will help build community and relationships.
My Project
These materials will provide a verity of fun learning opportunities for my students. They will have educational games to play during free time, centers and indoor recess. During the collaborative engaging interaction, our students will be building relationships with each other as well as learning to be a team player. The word games will provide additional reading support while having fun. The word puzzles will also provide reinforcement of building words and learning letter sounds, and reading. A very important part of this project is to provide our students with with fun and exciting educational activities that help build our classroom community.
