This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I do have a very diverse class: special education students, English-language learners, and gifted and talented students! Nonetheless, I have very talented students but some students are extremely shy. I've experienced that most 7th graders are at an age where they want to explore and try new things. Students are eager to come back to school after experiencing virtual learning during this pandemic. This is why I have taken on the challenge to renovate students' learning by focusing on math fluency.
My Project
Now that we will be back to in-person instruction, I want to slowly integrate hands-on manipulatives to increase math fact fluency. VersaTiles from Hand2Mind will help close those learning gaps students might have and I want to do it in a fun way. I want students to feel that they're playing a game and not so much as doing work.
With this hands-on experience, students will have fun mastering math fact fluency!
