FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Jones's classroom raised $296
This project is fully funded
Students are often eager to learn, so much so that they stand up and block the view for others. Giving directions for "hands on" lessons, as well as conducting a lab, can be quite challenging.
As the only sixth grade teacher in an urban elementary school, I teach the four core subjects to a large group of twelve year olds. These students come in all sizes. No matter how the room is set up, someone is "odd man out" and can't see during labs. Everyone needs an equal opportunity to see what's going on in class.
With schools in our system consolidating, closing and opening new buildings, going to the district warehouse in search of a used lab table or a mobile cart has produced nothing.
I would like to have a tall table to use for demonstration purposes, distributing needed supplies and modeling step-by-step activities. Being able to capitalize on student enthusiasm will produce a better standards based lab experience. Will it be calmer and more focused, you bet! I can just hear them now..."I love science!"
More than half of students from low‑income households
