Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is really small with only 60 students K-8. We have 4 teachers and all of us know every student by name. Even with this close knit staff and student body, bullying is still an issue.
Teaching students how to be compassionate and to refrain from bullying is important.
These posters and bookmarks will be used in conjunction with an anti-bullying program next school year. The program will include morning messages about being compassionate and empathetic and recognizing that bullying is unacceptable. Students will also be creating skits about compassion vs. bullying.
The posters will be reminder as they walk through the halls and the bookmarks will be positive messages every time they open their book. Assessment of the impact of these materials will be on the form of evaluation of referrals to the office for bullying.
