My Students
You know what a pain it is to draw a graph on the board over and over because you have to erase the previous marks?? I do! I do!
I teach the Alternative Learning Classroom at a high poverty junior/high school in South Arkansas.
My students are in grades 7th to 12th and can be enrolled in my classroom from 9 weeks to the whole school year. My students are not always trouble, sometimes they just need someone to help them out and give them that extra push to make them believe they can do it. Math seems to be the hardest subject for some of them to grasp but with the help of hands-on and visual materials I think we could help that problem out.
My Project
The graphs will allow me to correctly show them how to do many things in math. We will be able to graph, show slope, and show transformation, rotations and reflections. It will be mush easier for me to have something where they can watch me do it and then practice on their individual board.
Please help us learn to graph correctly.
My students need to be able to hear it, see it and do it in order to comprehend it. The graphing boards and resources will enable my students to see it on the board, watch me work the problem and then try for themselves.
