Help me give my students flex space balance balls and comfy floor seats, so that they can choose the best seating that will provide them with the best learning environment specific to their needs.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is filled with lifelong learners. My students are definitely one of a kind. These kids come to school each day wanting to learn. Although many of them are facing situations that no one should ever have to face, they still come in with smiles that brighten up the room.
With all of the disadvantages against them, they still manage to have a genuine care for each other and the world around them.
It's safe to say that the kids in my classroom are game changers. All they need is a little boost to help them make a greater impact.
My Project
Our classroom will be filled with collaboration and presentations within student groups. In order to build a classroom culture that facilitates a student-centered classroom, the students need to be able to see that they have a voice in their classroom.
As a student, the first thing they recognize through flexible seating is that this classroom exists to support them in their learning.
They automatically see that they are the focus of the classroom, and this sets the stage for ownership, responsibility, creativity and so much more.
I am certain that being able to choose their best learning space will set the students up to be successful in their projects. As they come together to problem solve, they will be more confident in themselves and be able to contribute to their groups immensely.
