The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them comfortable seating options while processing their emotions and learning new coping skills. The couch provides a softer and more nurturing energy in the office they are seen in, and makes it feel less academic/administrative. They can use my office chair to roll around as an alternative if needed as some of my students struggle with being still. The beanbag chair will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be moved around the office when needed.
I have observed how comfortable seating can be a positive contributing factor with adolescents in therapy sessions.
I hope that the additional options will help them feel comfortable as they are provided counseling sessions. The table will also be useful as it will hold their tissues, journals, and fidget toys container. This will enable them to come right in and select any tactile activity they wish to utilize during sessions.
