This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students in my class come from various walks of life including economic and social backgrounds. Nearly 70% of students within our school are economically disadvantaged. Many students in my class want to learn all that there is, but have the weight of the world on their shoulders.
These students are so eager to learn, they never want to stop an activity to move on to the next.
Please help our class have the best of the best available to them as we navigate this new way of learning.
My Project
Throughout one of the most challenging years students have had to face, I am looking to end the year with a real world learning experience students will remember for years to come. The students are eager for the chance to be hands-on with an activity especially in a time like now. What better way to do that than by hatching our very own baby chickens?
Students will be able to understand the importance of life science right here in our classroom first hand.
They will be actively involved in the hatching process as well as caring for the baby chicks when they arrive.
Please help me give my students an egg incubator as well as a warming station for the chickens to adapt to our classroom.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
