My Project
Beginning the school year comes with significant costs... New clothes. New shoes. New gadgets. The latest and greatest of whatever is hot on the market.
Students begin the year in a different position, one of less privilege and shiny-newness.
This year, my goal is to have supplies ready for every student from day one, so that everyone starts off the year with exactly what they need, without any of the hassle.
Our students, like all students, are unique. But, they have a different set of needs. I've learned that I am teaching more than English within these walls. I am teaching organization, budgeting, and life skills. As such, we are starting a new binder system so that students have all the materials that they need in one central location. Hopefully, this reduces the number of lost materials, bolsters student engagement, and increases grades!
