Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We will use these Harry Potter costumes and props to conduct teacher-led whole-class text-to-self activities. We will read the novel along with the teacher and then take comprehension quizzes on them. Then, as a class, we will discuss the deeper context of the text. Topics included will be questions such as, How do you think the character is feeling? What would you do? What was the main idea of the chapter? The costumes that will be worn by the teacher will help to create buy-in and a lasting memory of our Harry Potter theme day!

As I analyze this year's student data, comprehension is where my students are lacking.

Being able to conduct a whole class comprehension challenge will give my students the skills they need to prepare them for the ever-changing statewide assessment.
