My Project
Learning music virtually can present challenges. By giving my middle school students their own harmonica, I can put music-making abilities into their hands for a lifetime! The goal of this project is to provide virtual students a hands-on opportunity to play music live without being in an actual music classroom. Making music together increases feelings of belonging and fosters connections among students and teachers. Additionally, the harmonica will allow students to play the 12-Bar Blues chord progression and truly understand the foundations of this genre of music.
My students are bursting with musical potential, and by giving them a portable, lifelong skill found in the harmonica, I believe their overall lives will be forever positively changed.
