My Project

Objective:

The objective of this project is to enhance the learning experience of middle school students in the Coding and Digital Music class by integrating the use of the Donner MEDO Portable Multi-Function Musical Instrument.

This hands-on approach will provide students with practical experience in music creation and technology, covering a wide range of topics in an engaging and interactive manner.

Course Topics and Implementation:

1. Creating Musical Patterns: Students will utilize the Donner MEDO to learn the concepts of loops and coding to create simple musical patterns, fostering a deeper understanding of rhythm and structure in music composition.

3. Virtual Instruments: The Donner MEDO will be used to provide an overview of virtual instruments and implementation within a DAW, enabling students to experiment with different sounds and instrumentations.

4. Music Synthesis and Sound Design: Basics of sound synthesis and designing custom sounds with code will be taught using the Donner MEDO's capabilities, encouraging creativity and experimentation in music production.

5. Real-Time Audio Processing: Students will be introduced to real-time effects in music coding and implement them using the Donner MEDO, offering a hands-on experience in manipulating and shaping sound in real time.

9. Showcases: The Donner MEDO will be utilized for students to prepare and showcase their final projects, providing them with the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and skills developed throughout the course.
