This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our scholars are in 3rd through 5th grade! This project will immediately be used by the 5th grade for their end of year BBQ, but will be used for school wide in the future as well. Our students are general and special education with a large population of English Language Learners. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different post-pandemic environment. Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in makerspace activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. They are all amazing kids!

After working so hard throughout their elementary careers, the 5th graders will have a chance to celebrate with a year end BBQ after graduation!

We had a BBQ used for school wide events and the much anticipated year end 5th grade BBQ but it has sadly seen its last hamburger after many years and needs to be replaced! Without it's replacement, the year end celebration may not happen.

Scholars worked hard all year as well as kept their behavior up through PBIS in anticipation of the BBQ and we want to be able to provide this great opportunity for our scholars, with your help, we can!
