I teach 11th and 12th grade math to amazing and inspiring students.
At my school, our mission is to provide a college-preparatory learning experience with a focus on individual freedom, critical thinking, and problem solving in an environment that emphasizes the values of community, teamwork, and nonviolence.
Our students, mostly from Wilmington and surrounding areas, can and do achieve at high levels. Most aspire to go to college and we do everything we can to help them succeed there and in the future.
My Project
With all of our teaching and learning fully virtual, this project will give me the resources to give students a truly full experience while learning online. Technology is a barrier in great teaching online, and these materials will help ensure that I am able to give students the experience they deserve.
Every day, our students spend about three hours learning through zoom at my school.
Further, I spend many more hours preparing high quality materials and plans to deliver these lessons. While virtual learning is no replacement for in-person learning, these additional resources will help me by making it easier to deliver and prepare great lessons.
Math is difficult on the computer! With a printer, I will be able to print custom lessons/materials for students to either mail to them or do contactless drop off if completing math online is too cumbersome.
