My Students

Our students in New Orleans East are curious and enthusiastic learners due to our dedicated teachers. Both teachers and students are problem solvers that are always up for a challenge.

We are proud to be a diverse school with a high population of English language learners.

New Orleans East is a historically underserved area, and our students deserve the same opportunity to have a high-quality education. Our teachers deserve a positive environment and access to excellent resources.

My Project

Teachers are continually improving their practice. At our school, we have professional development weekly, focusing on topics such as classroom management, engagement strategies, and supporting ELL and SPED students. Teachers are given time to reflect on their teaching and create plans for improvement.

The furniture and pillows will help create a positive, comfortable space for our teachers to renew and reflect, so they can in turn best support their students.

This will be a space where instructional coaches can meet with teachers 1:1 to assist with topics such as lesson planning.
