My Students

Imagine being an 8-year-old in a room filled with books that took you around the world? My students often express that the only time they have seen some animals are in books. The students I serve are loving and caring children that love to read and learn. My students' favorite time of the day is DEAR time because they get to sit quietly and read silently. A new level library could take my students to places they have never been because my students rarely get to travel outside of their neighborhood.

My Project

The past two years have been difficult for my students with virtual teaching and learning. Most of my students come from low-income homes and having leveled books is not possible. I would love for them to have a variety of books to read on different levels. To have a quiet area would mean the world to them because they are always asking for more books to read. My students have been out of school for over a year. I want to provide them with a quiet corner to read and complete assignments.
