This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Mother's Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the moms that make our world turn, as well as the equally wonderful and important mom figures that play a vital role in a child's upbringing. I have been blessed with the best set of moms around - these women care deeply for their children and have been so supportive all year! I would love a chance to celebrate them.
Taking time to create a meaningful gift for their mothers and their mom figures will show my students how important it is to give back to those that give so much to us.
I would love to be able to create something that the students will have pride in when they give their mother or their mother figure their gift. We will use the wax, burner, and candle jars/oils to make a lasting gift their mothers or mother figures will enjoy. When they light the candle and smell the scent their child picked just for them, hopefully it brings a smile to their face!
This is a great lesson in giving to others. I think sometimes it's very easy for kids to take their parents for granted and all that they do; it's normal and they love them dearly! This is a great chance for them to reflect and celebrate the wonderful women in their lives.
