My Project

Anytime I see the opportunity to help my students’ mental health, I jump on it. From previous experience, coloring helps release tension and frustration which is why there are coloring books and coloring supplies. Stress balls help tremendously for anyone (from my experiences) in helping them stay on task and pay attention. The camera/printer we would use a lot for photographing every day projects and activities for the students to look back on and also present at open house and orientation for others to see a glimpse of what the classroom brings. I always use stickers on tests, something that maybe seems too old for high school. Trust me when I say they light up every time they see a sticker next to their grade. They send pictures to their parents because they are so proud of themselves. Every day my students journal to release emotion of any kind before starting our day. I want my students high school experience to be fun and memorable, and by keeping their mental health in check, I think they have the best chance at remembering what amazing times we had in class later in life.
