My students need a carpet to meet for reading, a kidney table for small group instruction, and a bookshelf, listening center, and 2 phonics/letter activity programs.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn. They deserve an environment that is ready for learning. My goal as a teacher is to help them reach their full potential and help them master skills to be long-life learners and good readers.
I have a class of 19 students.
There are 10 boys and 9 girls. Six of my students were previously retained in kindergarten. A few of these children are self-conscious of being in kindergarten again. I have good support from parents and have started to provide suggested activities to help them at home. I have confidence that my students will master the skills necessary to continue to first grade and become good readers and curious learners.
My Project
At this time, I need these materials to provide a safe, inviting and productive classroom environment that will promote learning in the different areas and times of the day. My students need the kidney table for small group instructions which is essential to have to address skills in a more smaller setting. The carpet will give my students ample space to come together and read stories, greet the day, and do whole group instruction in a comfy area. My students also need the materials for the listening center to independently practice and improve the skills being taught in whole group.
These materials will improve my classroom by making it a place that is safe and inviting for learning.
A place that has areas equiped for independent learning, group learning, and differentiated instruction in small group setting learning.
