This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many times my students need just a little something to keep their bellies happy. Students should never experience hunger pains especially while in school. I teach in a special education classroom that is full of all 5th and 6th graders. At their age, they are growing like weeds and could eat you out of your house and home.

They receive 100% free breakfast and lunch but at their age, the portion sizes they receive just don't fill them up enough.

So, I have a snack center for students to grab something after our morning recess and a little something extra after they have finished their meal but aren't full just yet.
