Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Students: Third graders have science standards, including the life cycle. But with our busy schedules and lack of resources, there is very little time or opportunity to bring science into the classroom. The butterfly life cycle kit will bring science to life in our classroom.
I teach a wonderful class of 25 third graders.
They are excited, energetic and enthusiastic. My students love science, especially when they can experience it hands-on. They do not have many opportunities to work with science at home (or at school) and I want to provide them the opportunity to experience the life cycle of butterflies.
My Project
My Project: The Butterfly Life Cycle Kit and Science Journals will allow my students to use the scientific process to answer the question "Where do butterflies come from?" We will use the materials to explore life cycles, and will supplement the learning with writing and math activities. It will enable the students to learn valuable research and report writing skills. It will make them interested in science, and provide them with the background to make them lifelong scientists.
Please help me give my students the experience that they need to be successful in today's increasingly science-driven society.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of my children!
