My Students

I teach at a charter school that was created for students with Autism, ADHD, and other special needs. My special students are making huge academic progress as they receive one-on-one leveled reading, math, social skills, and functional skills instruction. Many students make over a year's worth of progress over the course of the school year. Due to COVID-19, I have 35 students in first through sixth grades in both online and in-person classes.

My students require various accommodations in the classroom and their instruction in order to meet their diverse academic, behavioral, social, and sensory needs in the classroom.

My students enjoy learning and work hard each day despite their differing abilities.

My Project

My students have a variety of special needs. Most of them are dealing with a lot of sensory, emotional, and self-regulation needs that need to be addressed throughout the day before they can focus on academics.

Please help me give my students a doorway gym, a hammock chair, and sensory fidgets to help them relieve stress and self-regulate.

The doorway gym will help students with deep pressure to help students keep a calm body and reduce anxiety. The hammock chair will create a safe space for students to calm down. Fidgets and the emotions game will further support the goals of self-regulation.
