Handy-Dandy Hands-on Learning!

Help me give my students fun ways to practice letters and numbers. Independent centers are a great way to practice skills learned in the classroom. With these additional centers, I will have enough centers for everyone!

My Students

I’m still new to kindergarten, but I’ve been teaching for 23 years. My new group of 5-year-olds is a sparky group full of energy. They are the most loving bunch of children I have ever been around. I have some students that don't seem to get the attention they desire at home, so when they come to me I am sure to make them feel very important and loved.

Children learn by doing.

I believe in hands-on learning. With Covid-19, I have to be a lot more careful with my hands-on learning supplies. Children cannot share things, so that means I need more of many classroom items. I have to sterilize each item in between children using them. I like to have center time for hands-on learning each day. This year I am going to have to be very creative to be able to provide that fun learning to my students.

My Project

I use center time so that I am able to re-teach to small groups of kids. Students need to be able to have centers that they can do on their own with little support from me. Being new to kindergarten I don't have very many center activities for young learners. I am trying to build up my center activities. It is also important I have enough due to the fact we try not to share things as much in the classroom anymore due to covid 19. With the addition of these centers, I am confident I will have enough center activities for everyone.
