My Students
Students today are losing sight of the importance of handwriting skills.
My students are wonderful and a joy to teach daily.
We are an inner city, high poverty school in Virginia, and we are blessed with a dedicated teaching staff who works hard with available resources. My students are enthusiastic about life and learning and often struggle to slow down enough to concentrate on proper handwriting.
My Project
I believe the proper writing paper, along with direct instruction, will provide the structure my students need to internalize proper letter formation. This is important early on in their school career so that it becomes second nature and they can move on to creative and content writing.
These resources will provide my students with the tools needed for practicing proper letter formation.
Once this skill is learned, students can focus on content and their creativity instead of letter shapes.
