This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from low to moderate income families of Hispanic backgrounds and are bilingual, Spanish being their native language. I have had 23 to 25 kindergarten students in my class. For several of them, this is their first year in school. They are creative and unique individuals that deserve everything that will support their academic journey and make it enjoyable. Pre-K and Kindergarten provide the foundation that they will need for the rest of their academic life. They are eager to learn and show what they have learned!!
My Project
During mini lessons for multiple subjects, students are eager to answer. These tools will provide every student the opportunity to show their answer whether they are called on or not. It will also allow me to see misconceptions before it is vocalized. It will also make every student accountable for their response and help them remain engaged during the lesson. Once it is time for me to check for their understanding, they will write their response on their answer board. Taking into consideration that several students aren't able to write complete sentences, they will keep their answers short and elaborate vocally.
