My Students

The 3rd grade students in my Sandy, Utah classroom come to school everyday eager to connect with their peers and community. They are creative, thoughtful, and eager to extend their thinking. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to stretch their thinking to find innovative and reasonable solutions!

We come from unique cultures and backgrounds.

We vary in strengths and abilities, but we all share the love of books, reading, exploring and being immersed in new things. We use a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met!

They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and grateful to have students that are excited and ready to learn!

My Project

Number talk buzzes daily in my classroom. Students love to unlock the mysteries of math! The use of whiteboards, and hands-on math tools is crucial to developing good foundational skills. When students have opportunities to manipulate two-sided counters, dice, fraction strips, and other tools, they begin to see the meaning of math.

Hands-on experiences help unlock number sense for some students, while others extend their thinking on an entirely different level.

By donating to our project, you will not only add to student focus and engagement, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
