This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twelve lively students on my caseload, and they are all bursting with personality! I work in a self-contained special education classroom with all diverse learners. Their needs range from developmental delays to learning differences. I want to provide students with amazing hands-on materials to help them master their reading and math skills!

My students love learning through doing, and we need to replenish our hands-on learning materials for the school year!

Our urban public school follows the International Baccalaureate program which requires our students to be knowledgeable, principled, risk-takers, open-minded, inquirers, thinkers, and caring individuals. In order to help my students meet the program requirements, I need to provide cool learning games to collaborate, think, grow, and create!

My Project

Students will be able to stay focused by using their mesh squishy balls and fidget toys for tactile stimulation. Students will also be able to "travel" around the world using the World floor map puzzle. They will also be able to keep their materials organized following a color-coding system using the colored paper. And they'll even be able to express their emotions using the cool emoji pencil erasers to help build their social emotional skills.

The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the number of behavioral issues because I will be able to provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need due to their diverse learning needs!
