6th grade is a year where my students are going to explore so many different things. I am teaching science and social studies, and students are exposed to a variety of content. While some of our science curriculum is hands-on, not much of it is created for the large demand of technology. Students experience 3D printing in 5th grade when they visit Starbase, and learning to create through other methods only enhances their school experience.
My students are lower income, but yearn for all of the learning experiences they can have.
By supporting this project, my students will have exposure to things they would not otherwise have exposure to (outside of one day in their 5th grade year). They are so creative and I know they will use the technology in so many different ways.
Students also have opportunities to print and show off other projects. Unfortunately, my district only allows for so many prints, and none are able to be in color. An in-classroom printer will give them the chance to show off the hard work they do.
Thank you so much for supporting these 6th graders on their learning journey!
