My Students

The majority of my students came in not knowing any of the letter names and sounds, how to count, and have very little social skills. At this point in the year, we are really focusing on ALL the letter names and sounds, know how to count to 20, addition/subtraction and are preparing to start READING!

In Kindergarten, hands on experience is most valuable; it's where students gain a lot of understanding.

I do leveled small groups where students can not only interact with others on their level, but have fun and not even know they are learning. I have been adding to my small group activities for years. This will allow me to get a bigger variety for the students.

I love teaching! I love seeing my student learn and grow. Teaching is one of the most reward careers out there. I am truly blessed. My students are AMAZING!

My Project

The games will be used during small group instruction as well as discovery centers. Discovery Centers take place to help students engage and learn SEL skills. In Kindergarten, students these skills as they interact with one another. The writing boards will be use during whole groups lessons as well as small group lessons. These boards are reusable and more fun for the students than paper. I already have some writing boards. The batteries will be use to help those function. With these writing boards and the ones I already have, I will have enough for my class. The cardstock will be used to create additional hands on activities I purchase through Teacher Pays Teacher and that I create. The bins will be used to store items not in use. I rotate through activities to give students a variety.
