This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 20 hard working, amazing first grade students in a low income, small East Texas town. They love to work with hands-on activities, make creative art projects, play games, and learn through technology. My students do not respond as positively to worksheets or seat work activities as they do to physically manipulating skills with manipulatives or using a device.
I strive to make my classroom a fun and exciting, but also engaging learning environment for all of my students.
My Project
My students need a new CD player for our listening center. We have an awesome phonics program in our classroom on CD, but no CD player to listen to the program on. This CD player would be great for our classroom so that my students can get the extra phonics practice that they need. We also are in need of new station games.
The sight word games will reinforce sight word memorization during station time and they will have lots of fun playing!
The other station games will be great to reinforce skills that we are learning in the classroom that kids can practice during station time.
